All About Me

Hello everyone, my name is Melissa Vaughn and I am very excited to be a part of Panther Nation. I am a native of Ackerman, MS. I am a 1985 graduate of Ackerman High School. Also a graduate of Mississippi State University and I obtained a Master's degree from Strayer University. 

 

My husband and I moved to Brookhaven in 2008. We have 3 children and 12 grandchildren. I love to read, cook, and listening to Gospel music. Most of all, I love children. I love teaching and have been doing it for 21 years. I have taught every grade in elementary except for Pre-K and 1st grade. 

My philosophy in education is all children are unique and need an environment conducive to learning where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my deepest desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can be all they can be.
