Principal Message

Welcome to Brookhaven Elementary School!  

 

I am honored to serve as your principal at BES.   As the principal of BES, I will work hard to provide a safe and positive learning environment that is conducive to learning for all students.  Our teachers and staff strive to provide a rigorous, standards-based curriculum focused on students and their individual needs.  We believe in educating the whole child focusing on academic, social, and emotional growth.  Our teachers will grow all our students by implementing different strategies within the classrooms.  We will provide students with a learning environment that engages students in challenging and rewarding instructional activities.  Our teachers will be provided professional development opportunities, resources, information, and constructive feedback in a positive working environment so that they will have what they need to do the best job possible! I will support our staff, students, and parents to the best of my ability.  

 

It has been my privilege to have worked at the junior high and high school levels for the past 16 years in both instructional and administrative positions.  I have certification in elementary education, reading general sciences, biology, and educational leadership.  I received my bachelor's degree and master's degree from Alcorn State University and I received my specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College.  I began my educational career in my hometown at Wilkinson County Elementary, Wilkinson County High School, and William Winans Middle School.  I moved to Brookhaven seventeen years ago and now I am PANTHER STRONG! Again, I am honored to be the principal at BES and a part of the Panther and Brookhaven Community.
